During the COVID-19 pandemic, Detective Benoit Blanc is hired by Helen. Brand to investigate the death of her twin sister, Cassandra "Andi" Brand. Andi is the CEO of Alpha, the technology company she co-founded with Miles Bron, after refusing to consent to Miles releasing Klear, an alternative fuel. As a result of using potentially dangerous hydrogen, Miles expels Andi from the company and wins the lawsuit she brought against him. And Miles' old friends include Alpha's chief scientist Lionel Toussaint, Connecticut Governor Claire Debella, fashion designer Birdie Jay and men's rights streamer Duke Cody.
